Where our depth shows
Every role we recruit has its own page describing what the job actually involves, how the title differs from the responsibility, which employer pools produce candidates and which technical questions separate real fits from title matches. Read the page for your role before you call us, and tell us where it is wrong. We would rather learn from you than guess.
Good fits for a contingency search
- A site or campus superintendent where the start date is tied to a milestone
- A commissioning lead needed before an integrated test window
- A chief engineer or critical facilities manager for a live site
- A power procurement or interconnection leader for a development
- A design or engineering manager who must bring client relationships

When another model is better
Crews and tradespeople are available on request. If the search is board level, exclusive or highly confidential, consider retained search. Our comparison pages show sourced facts on both models.
What happens after you submit the form
Ivan or a senior team member will reach out soon. The first conversation is about the role, not about us. We will ask about scope, location, reporting line and what the last hire got wrong.
How a search runs
How does The Six-Step Search work?
Every search runs the same six steps. We agree the brief with you, map where the people work, find direct contact routes, reach out personally and repeatedly, then qualify each candidate live. You only see a short list of people who fit, with notes on each, and we stay with you through offer and start.
- 01
Search Calibration

What do employers usually need from a specialist recruiter?
Most employers come to us when the usual channels have stopped working. Postings bring the wrong applicants, internal referrals are exhausted and the hiring manager has no time to call people who are not looking. What they need is a short list of qualified people who have already said yes to a conversation.
The people who do this work well are usually employed and rarely read job boards. Reaching them takes direct phone outreach by someone who understands the work well enough to describe it honestly and answer technical questions on the first call.
We do the early work your team cannot spare time for: approach, first screen, motivation, pay expectations and availability. You spend interview time only on people worth meeting.
How should an employer prepare before a search starts?
Settle three things before outreach: who makes the final decision, what the pay range really is and how many interview steps there will be. Searches slow down when any of these change midway, and strong candidates often withdraw when a process seems to grow new steps.
It also helps to name what would rule a candidate out. A missing license, an unwillingness to travel or a lack of live site experience are better stated up front than discovered in a second interview.
If the range is uncertain, our salary guide and offer checker give a starting point, and we share what candidates say about pay during the search.
What does working with us look like week to week?
After calibration, we send short updates on who we have spoken with, what the market is saying and where the brief may need adjusting. Candidates reach you with a written summary covering experience, motivation, pay and notice. You decide who to meet, and we handle scheduling and feedback.
We stay involved through the offer. Counteroffers, start dates and notice periods are discussed openly with candidates before you make an offer, so surprises at the end are rare.
After a start date, we check in with both sides during the first weeks. Early friction about scope, schedule or reporting is easier to fix when someone raises it before it hardens into a resignation.
Where should you go next?
These pages carry on from here. Each one covers a related decision in more depth, so pick the one closest to the question you still have about this hire, the data behind it or how we work with you.
