Six steps from open role to qualified shortlist
Data Center Headhunters recruits critical facilities, data center operations, construction and delivery, commissioning, power and cooling, and executive talent for colocation, hyperscale and enterprise sites. We research the market, contact working people and qualify a shortlist for your opening. No upfront fee. You pay only if you hire.
Research first. Outreach second. A focused shortlist with clear qualification notes.
This is what we do all day: recruit data center professionals.
No postings. No stacks of resumes. No chasing. You interview a short list.
No upfront fee. You pay only if you hire.

1. Calibration
We start with a working conversation about the role. We ask what the last hire got wrong, which systems the person must have touched, and what the job looks like in month six. The output is a written target profile you approve before we contact anyone.
2. Market mapping
We map the firms and sites where the right people work today. For a superintendent that may be general contractors with active campuses. For a chief engineer it is operators with comparable redundancy and scale. The map tells us where to look and who to leave alone.
Ready to start? Tell us the role.
3. Contact research
Resumes are a poor source for people who are not looking. We research names, tenure, project history and reporting lines from public professional information, then confirm direct contact details before outreach starts.
4. Persistent direct outreach
We call and write to people individually. Most strong candidates are employed and busy, so a first message rarely works. We follow up over weeks, explain the role honestly and respect a no.
Ready to start? Tell us the role.
5. Live qualification
We speak with every candidate before you do. We test scope against the target profile, ask what they actually owned, and learn why they would consider a move. We drop people who do not fit, even when their title does.
6. Candidate brief
You receive a brief for each finalist, not a stack of resumes. It covers background, relevant systems and scale, motivation, availability and open questions. You decide who to meet.
Ready to start? Tell us the role.
Where you stay in control
You approve the target profile, you see every candidate we put forward and you decide on interviews and offers. Candidates are only submitted with their agreement.
What each step produces
- Calibration: a written target profile you approve
- Market mapping: a list of employers, sites and teams to approach or avoid
- Contact research: verified names, tenure and reporting lines
- Outreach: individual conversations, not blast messages
- Qualification: notes from a live screening call with each finalist
- Candidate brief: scope, systems, motivation, availability and open questions

Why we qualify by phone
A resume shows titles. A call shows ownership. We ask what the person personally decided, which tests they led, what went wrong and what they changed. People who did the work answer quickly and specifically. People who watched the work give general answers. This is the step that keeps your interview time for people who make sense.
How it connects to the rest of the site
Each role page on this site lists the screening questions, the interface risks and the constraints we use for that position. Each segment page does the same for a part of the industry. The process is the same for every search, and the content of the screen changes with the role.
Ready to start? Tell us the role.
What we ask of you
Name one decision maker. Give honest feedback within a few days of each brief. Tell us early if the profile changes. Searches move at the speed of feedback, and strong candidates do not wait indefinitely.
How a search runs
How does The Six-Step Search work?
Every search runs the same six steps. We agree the brief with you, map where the people work, find direct contact routes, reach out personally and repeatedly, then qualify each candidate live. You only see a short list of people who fit, with notes on each, and we stay with you through offer and start.

Questions
What are the six steps in The Six-Step Search?
Search Calibration, Market Mapping, Professional Contact Intelligence, Persistent Personalized Outreach, Live Candidate Qualification, and Candidate Intelligence and Process Support.
What do you need from me during Search Calibration?
The duties, systems, authority, shift pattern, reporting line, pay range and interview steps. A rough brief is fine; we sharpen it together on the call.
Why is Live Candidate Qualification done by phone?
A live conversation tests real experience. Follow-up questions about a switching sequence or a failed test reveal far more than a résumé, and we write down what we verified.
When do I start seeing candidates?
After calibration and outreach produce qualified people. We do not set a date in advance; we share progress and market feedback as the search moves.
Where do counteroffers come up in the process?
In Live Candidate Qualification and again in Candidate Intelligence and Process Support, before you make an offer and during the notice period.
Does the process change the fee?
No. No upfront fee. You pay only if you hire.
What guarantee follows the final step?
We offer a candidate replacement guarantee on standard search agreements. The applicable period and exact terms are set out in the signed client recruiting agreement.
Which steps do you not take?
We do not post your role on job boards, forward unscreened resumes or approach anyone before the brief is agreed.
