What is in a free talent snapshot?
A snapshot is a short written view of the talent pool for one role in one location. It describes where suitable people tend to work now, which backgrounds transfer, what makes the role hard to fill and which parts of your brief may narrow the pool. It is an assessment, not a candidate list.
We base it on the role details you send, our recruiting work in the sector and published pay data where it helps explain the picture. It does not name candidates or employers.
Many teams use a snapshot before approving a requisition, to decide whether the role is realistic as written or needs adjusting.
Who should request a talent snapshot?
Hiring managers, HR partners and project leaders who are planning a hire and want an outside view before committing. It is most useful when the role is new to your organization, the location is new or a previous attempt struggled. You do not need to engage us for a search to request one.
The more specific the request, the more useful the snapshot. Include the duties, level, shift, location and any must have licenses or certifications.
If you already know you want to start a search, send the role instead. The snapshot is for planning.
What will you not get from a snapshot?
You will not get names, resumes, a salary quote, a forecast or a promise about how long a hire will take. The snapshot explains the shape of the market and the trade offs in your brief. Decisions about pay and requirements stay with you, informed by clearer evidence.
Requests are handled one at a time, so the form asks enough detail to make the snapshot specific to your role.
There is no obligation after a snapshot. If you later send the role, the snapshot simply becomes part of the calibration.
How is a snapshot different from a full search calibration?
A snapshot looks at the market for one role from the outside and returns a written view. Calibration happens once a search begins and goes deeper: interview steps, approval paths, compensation flexibility and the specific people or backgrounds to target. The snapshot informs planning; calibration drives outreach.
Teams that request a snapshot first usually arrive at calibration with a clearer brief.
Where should you go next?
These pages carry on from here. Each one covers a related decision in more depth, so pick the one closest to the question you still have about this hire, the data behind it or how we work with you.
Questions
Does requesting a talent snapshot commit me to a search?
No. The snapshot is free and carries no obligation.
Will the snapshot include candidate names?
No. It describes the talent pool and the trade offs in your brief, not individuals.
What details make the snapshot more useful?
Duties, level, shift, location, licenses and any must have experience.
How a search runs
How does The Six-Step Search work?
Every search runs the same six steps. We agree the brief with you, map where the people work, find direct contact routes, reach out personally and repeatedly, then qualify each candidate live. You only see a short list of people who fit, with notes on each, and we stay with you through offer and start.
