What do we look for when reviewing a job description?

We check whether the title matches the level, whether duties and authority are clear, whether requirements are real needs or habits and whether the schedule, travel and pay basics are stated. Then we mark the text in plain language so you can see what candidates will likely misread or skip.

Data center descriptions often borrow from general facilities or construction templates and miss what makes the role specific: the systems, the project stage, switching authority or shift pattern.

We also flag combinations that rarely exist in one person, because those make a role look unrealistic to experienced candidates.

What should you send for the review?

Send the current posting or your working notes, the location, the level you intend and anything you already know is causing trouble. Rough drafts are fine. The aim is to improve the description before it reaches candidates, so earlier is better than after a posting has run without results.

If the role has internal politics or constraints that the posting cannot mention, include a short note. It helps us suggest wording that stays accurate.

Do not include personal details about current staff or candidates. The review only needs the role.

What happens after the review is returned?

You decide what to change. The marked up text explains each suggestion so your team can accept, adjust or ignore it. There is no obligation to use our search service, and the review does not commit you to anything. Some teams use it once; others send every new role through it.

If the review shows the role is hard to fill as written, we say so and explain why. That is useful even if you decide to keep the requirements.

A clear description helps every channel you use, whether postings, referrals or a search firm.

Which problems appear most often in data center job descriptions?

Titles that overstate or understate the level, duty lists copied from general facilities roles, requirements that stack rare skills together, missing shift or travel details and pay information that blends base with other pay. Each makes experienced candidates hesitate, and most are quick to fix once someone points them out.

Fixing these before posting usually matters more than any change to the job board or channel.

Questions

Will you rewrite the whole job description?

We mark up your text and explain suggested changes. You keep control of the final wording.

Can I send a rough draft?

Yes. Rough notes are fine, and reviewing early saves a posting that would otherwise underperform.

Does the review include pay advice?

We note whether pay basics are stated and point to published data. We do not quote a salary.

How a search runs

How does The Six-Step Search work?

Every search runs the same six steps. We agree the brief with you, map where the people work, find direct contact routes, reach out personally and repeatedly, then qualify each candidate live. You only see a short list of people who fit, with notes on each, and we stay with you through offer and start.

  1. 01

    Search Calibration

You get: A written brief you sign off on: scope, must-haves, pay band and who not to approach.

  2. 02

    Market Mapping

You get: A map of the companies and projects where your future hire is working today.

  3. 03

    Professional Contact Intelligence

You get: Verified direct contact routes to the people on that map, not job board replies.

  4. 04

    Persistent Personalized Outreach

You get: Repeated, role-specific outreach to people who are not looking, in your words.

  5. 05

    Live Candidate Qualification

You get: Each candidate is screened live against your brief before you hear their name.

  6. 06

    Candidate Intelligence and Process Support

You get: A short list with candidate briefs, then support through interviews, offer and start.
